Meridian missing some key players travelled to lowly Staplehurst looking to get back to winning ways after two successive home draws. Roy-macauley could have put them ahead on 10 minutes when he found himself in on the keeper but his effort was blocked. Typically Meridian fell behind just two minutes later. Giving the ball away in midfield then a keystone cops moment as two defenders failed to make tackles, leaving the striker to run clear and fire the hone side ahead. Staplehurst had the best of a fairly drab first half. One effort coming back off the crossbar, two other efforts just clearing the crossbar. Meridians only effort was a freekick blasted wildly over the bar. The second half meandered along Staplehurst should have extended their lead but shot over the bar of an empty goal. Meridian had a couple of efforts late on, Darrell Thompson saw a shot saved and Roy -Macauleys follow up was blocked. Ramell lake saw his shot blocked and scrambled away for a corner. Honestly Meridian never looked like scoring and although they did put the ball in the net in stoppage time it was inevitably offside. A lack of reinforcements on the bench Team Manager Dwinder Tamna brought himself on with 5 minutes remaining but couldn't make an impact.
A miserable day for Meridian who on this form could find themselves dragged into a relegation scrap.
