Shock to the System!!

Welcomed by the home side this afternoon Erith & Dartford Town FC (EDTFC) looked to keep on track with their current good fortune against Meridian FC.

On current form Meridian should have been home and dry in this fixture but it was a rude awakening for all players that took part.

Although firmly in control in the first 25 minutes a fortuitous long ball caught Meridian and with only a precise finish by EDTFC forward was suffice taking the home side into the lead.

Meridian kept the ball not well enough stated the management and due to uncharacteristic errors by various personnel was not the order of the day resulting in chances for the home side.

Meridian trailed 2-0 at half time and knew they still had enough in the tank to overall the deficit.

Second half started of solid enough with the Meridian goalkeeper pretty idle for the first 15 minutes until the home side got an advantage and scored on the 65 minute from poor marking 3-0. Soon after on the 68 minute another quick goal realistically sealed the win for EDTFC 4-0.

The game decided to come to life after this with four goals in ten minutes. Two from EDTFC on 82 & 85 minutes and two goals from Alex Wasolua 83 mins coming back from injury and Wayon Anderson 90 mins for Meridian.

This performance let’s say was not the one Meridian would be getting too excited about as errors and lack of will & desire was the key element in today’s fixture.

We move on with a break from league programme with the next challenge of the Kent Intermediate Cup away to Rusthall FC KO 2.15PM.
