PRE SEASON OPENER - MVP vs Welling Town Res. - 2nd July 2019

MERIDIAN 5-1 WELLING TOWN RESERVES

Entertaining game tonight over in Welling at the Falconwood school on the 3G surface.

Meridian VP showing a fairly new starting squad with only 6 players remaining from last season’s squad.

THE MVP handed debuts to a number of players and to be fair they done well on the night although I’m sure there will be much tougher tests ahead for the Charlton based outfit.

Meridian scored some really well worked goals with some neat and intricate play.

Tonight’s goals were scored by Debutant Joe Richardson, Toyeeb Babatunde scored 2 and he already looks sharper and fitter than last season. newly appointed vice captain Dewain West got on the scoresheet and debutant midfield Jerome Richards got a goal and rounded off a good start to Meridian VP first pre-season match.

The management team was pleased with all of the squad getting a run out and also the team spirit within the camp.

The management also got the opportunity to try a few different formations and personnel in different positions.

Thank you to Welling town for the game and we wish them the best of luck for the coming season.

Our next game is Saturday 6th July 2019, when we host Cray Valley U23’s at Meridian Sports and Social Club, 5pm kick off on the 3G.
