Minds, Bodies & Focus Not In Attendance Tonight...

Following hot on the heels of MVP’s frustrating draw at the weekend. We had the chance to put things right with the visit of Fleetdown United from the Kent County Premier division. In the Hospital’s Charity Cup quarter final.

It was to turn out to be another game where MVP try as they might couldn’t get going. Fleetdown however showed plenty of fighting spirit and raised their performance well against the Sky Blues. Fleetdown took the lead early in with a decent diving header which bounced down over the line from the underside of the crossbar.

MVP toiled away but weren’t able to forge any decent chances of their own and Fleetdown almost doubled their lead Ashton making a decent save to thwart the visitors.

In the second half MVP came out more positively and pushed Fleetdown back but it was the visitors who came close again. Ashton again to the rescue with a good right handed save from a close range header.
Midway through the half Fleetdown doubled their advantage when their sub was put through and he finished well in the left hand corner.

MVP’s best chance fell to Brown who just couldn’t convert a spilled McDermott shot. There were no more real chances of any note created by the home side and the game edged away. Our exit from the cup now means that MVP can focus on the league and we have some very important games coming up starting with Saturdays game with FC Elmstead at Holmesdale FC. Where 3 points are a necessity as we look to push forward up the table.
