Trailing 2-0 Manny Ikeocha pulled a goal back before the break. Meridian missed a great chance to equalise while Lewisham had a goal ruled out for offside. With 11 minutes remaining kelvin Bakare raced clear into the area and was bought down. Penalty awarded and a red card for the lews defender. Norcott smashed home the penalty and looked to have resued at least a point. However MVP couldn't make the extra man pay and in stoppage time the inexperience within the new team showed when a trio of errors led to a throw in deep in their half and Meridian lost concentration allowing Lewisham to score the winner. Meridian aren't learning quick enough and with games running out their doesn't seem enough time for the new team to iron out its inadequacies.
